Performance reviews are essential from both a manager and employee standpoint. They ensure that the needs of the employee and the organization are being met. This article offers tips and information on conducting performance reviews.

Performance reviews should be given to employees on an annual basis. These reviews help an employee understand how important they are to an organization and provide the performance evaluation that every employee needs to continue to develop professionally and personally.

It is very important for performance reviews to be standardized for all employees. This ensures that everyone receives fair treatment. Performance reviews should also be:

  • Job-related
  • Unbiased against any race, sex, or religion
  • Conducted by someone who has direct knowledge of the employee and the employee’s job.
